Labor Day ABC Hours: What’s Open, What’s Not
Eight Mecklenburg County ABC spirits stores will open on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2025, on a modified 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule. One additional site will serve mixed-beverage customers only, meaning bars, restaurants, and other hospitality establishments with the proper permits. All other ABC locations in the county will be closed, according to the county board’s notice. Source: Mecklenburg County ABC Board.

Retail customers can shop 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at these locations:
- Store 9 — 1609 N. Graham Street, Charlotte, NC
- Store 17 — 19701 Statesville Road, Cornelius, NC
- Store 20 — 9740 University City Boulevard, Charlotte, NC
- Store 21 — 16019 Lancaster Highway, Ballantyne
- Store 27 — 1426-B S. Tryon Street, South End
- Store 29 — 9920-A E. Independence Blvd, Matthews, NC
- Store 30 — 13720 Steelecroft Pkwy, Rivergate Shopping Area
For holders of mixed-beverage permits only:
- Store 19 — 3333 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC — MXB customers only

Why Stores Can Open On The Holiday
The local board cites authority under Senate Bill 527, the ABC Omnibus 2023–24, Section 3, which allows ABC stores to open on Labor Day at the discretion of local ABC Boards. Mecklenburg exercised that option for the listed sites. Source: Mecklenburg County ABC Board.

The board says customers can use the store locator on its refreshed website to confirm locations and see monthly specials, recipes, and events.
