Hydrate Medical's story started in Dilworth 12 years ago. Its newest program is aimed at people who are not sick but know they could feel better.
Feeling your best, the practice says, is not just about getting through the day. It is about having the energy to do what you love, recovering well, staying sharp and taking a proactive approach to health with age. That philosophy is behind Hydrate Medical's new Performance & Longevity program, designed for people who want to be more intentional about how they feel today and how they want to feel years from now.
Dilworth roots
Since opening in Dilworth, the locally owned, physician-led practice has grown to seven locations across the Carolinas and now provides more than 3,000 infusions each month. Dilworth remains the neighborhood where the doors first opened.
Twelve years on, the Performance & Longevity program expands Hydrate's approach to wellness with a greater focus on supporting energy, recovery, healthy aging and staying active.
The idea behind it is simple: Live Optimized. "We're seeing more people who aren't necessarily sick, but they know they could feel better," says Dr. Jonathan Leake, a board-certified emergency medicine physician and co-owner of Hydrate Medical. "They may be dealing with low energy, slower recovery or just not feeling as sharp as they once did. Performance and longevity are about looking at ways we can support the body so people can continue doing the things they enjoy."
Putting your own health data to work
Smartwatches, fitness apps, sleep trackers and smart rings already give many people a steady stream of data on sleep, heart rate, activity, recovery and stress. Having it is only the first step.
The program helps patients use the information they are already tracking to have more informed conversations about health, wellness goals and how they feel day to day. Instead of simply noticing that a sleep score is down or recovery is slower, the goal is to see those trends as part of a broader wellness picture, with medical guidance and an individualized approach.
NAD+ therapy and more
At the center of the program is NAD+ therapy. NAD+, short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a substance found naturally in every cell of the body; put simply, it helps cells turn nutrients into energy. Levels decline naturally with age, which has led to growing interest in NAD+ and its potential role in supporting energy, healthy aging and overall wellness.
Hydrate Medical offers NAD+ through IV therapy, with treatment plans tailored to each person's goals. The program also includes Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) IV therapy, focused on antioxidant and metabolic support, and the Peak Performance IV, created with active lifestyles, exercise recovery and performance in mind. Hydrate's medical team helps clients consider which therapies may best fit their goals and routines.
A medical approach
With longevity one of the fastest-growing areas of health and wellness, Hydrate Medical believes medical oversight is especially important. Emergency medicine clinicians founded the practice, and its therapies are provided in a medical setting by experienced healthcare professionals.
"We want people to ask questions and understand what they're putting into their bodies and why," Dr. Leake says. "There is no single treatment that replaces the fundamentals of good health: nutrition, exercise, sleep and preventive medical care. These therapies are another tool that can be considered as part of a bigger wellness picture."
