The Charlotte Knights are showing "Shrek" at Truist Field tonight, Friday, Oct. 9. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 plus tax, and the club says all proceeds from its Food and Film events benefit Charlotte Knights Charities.
Food and Film is the Knights' movie night at the ballpark, and tonight's is the second of the year. The setup is a blanket in the outfield, the 2001 film, and what the club calls a "scenic skyline view" of uptown.
Individual tickets are sold online through the Knights' ticket page. Truist Field is at 324 S. Mint St.
A busy weekend at the ballpark
The same ballpark hosts Charlotte BookPalooza, a one-day book festival, on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. And the club's holiday lights festival, Light the Knights, is scheduled to begin Nov. 25, according to a Sept. 23 Knights release.
