Early voting for the Nov. 3 general election starts Thursday, Oct. 15, in Mecklenburg County and runs through Saturday, Oct. 31.

There are 25 early voting sites, and you can use any of them. That's different from Election Day, when registered voters must vote at their assigned polling place.

The hours are the same at every site

  • Weekdays: 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays (Oct. 17, 24 and 31): 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Sundays (Oct. 18 and 25): 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Early voting ends at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31.

What to bring

Voters are asked to show a photo ID when they check in.

If you missed the Oct. 9 registration deadline, you're not out of luck. Eligible residents who aren't registered in Mecklenburg can register and vote in the same visit at any early voting site. Registered voters can also update their name or address within the county there. Same-day registration isn't available to most voters on Election Day.
