The Charlotte Museum of History opens a Smithsonian traveling exhibition this Saturday that tells the story of Latinos in America through baseball. "¡Pleibol! In the Barrios and the Big Leagues / En los barrios y las grandes ligas" is bilingual, presented in Spanish and English, and it runs on Shamrock Drive from July 18 through October 18.

Organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, it traces the game from neighborhood teams to the major leagues, and the museum is opening it in partnership with the Charlotte Knights, the city's Triple-A club.

The exhibition is included with general admission at the museum, at 3500 Shamrock Drive. On opening day, anyone who shows up in baseball gear gets $5 off.

A closer look at "¡Pleibol!" is coming later this week. For now, the doors open Saturday.
