Phoenix Dental, at 10949 Old Ardrey Kell Road, Suite 202, in South Charlotte, was founded on a simple idea: a modern, patient-centered practice built on comfort, trust and long-term relationships.

From the patient chair

Leading the practice is Zachary Williams, DMD MS, whose path into dentistry began in the patient chair. Growing up in Bessemer City, N.C., frequent dental visits sparked a fascination with the profession and the effect dental care has on a person's confidence and quality of life. That curiosity became a calling: more than 1,000 hours shadowing healthcare professionals, a biology degree from Western Carolina University, a master's in medical sciences from Mississippi College and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from East Carolina University.

After several years as an associate dentist, he opened Phoenix Dental as a boutique practice built on relationships with patients.

Designed for anxious patients

What sets the practice apart is its focus on patients who experience dental anxiety. Every part of the office, from the calming atmosphere to a clear, compassionate way of explaining treatment, is designed to put people at ease. The team knows many people have postponed care because of fear or past experiences, and its mission is a different kind of visit, built on trust.

The practice also offers comprehensive treatment under one roof, investing in advanced technology and ongoing education so patients can keep seeing a provider they know rather than being referred elsewhere.

In the community

Phoenix Dental supports an annual golf tournament benefiting the Special Olympics, where it ranked among the top contributors in North Carolina, and has partnered with the Boys & Girls Club and childcare centers serving underserved communities in Charlotte.

Its advice to neighbors is simple: don't delay dental care. Small issues are easier, more comfortable and more affordable to treat early. Just as important is finding a provider who treats you as an individual and takes time to understand your goals and concerns.
