Austin Hill won the United Rentals Driven to Serve 250 at the San Diego Street Course on Saturday, the first NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race held at Naval Base Coronado, after a race defined by a 25-car wreck and a run of engine failures.

Brent Crews led from the pole and was the fastest car on the property until his engine let go on lap 44. On lap 35, a 25-car incident in Turn 2 brought out a red flag and reset the race. Hill, in the Richard Childress Racing No. 21, took the lead in the closing laps and held it.

He beat Taylor Gray by 1.127 seconds over 60 laps and 204 miles. Sheldon Creed finished third, Carson Kvapil fourth, and Sammy Smith fifth. It was the 16th O'Reilly Series victory of Hill's career. The race took nearly three and a half hours to complete.

The result barely moved the championship. Justin Allgaier still leads with 847 points, 224 clear of Jesse Love. Hill is fifth, 256 points back.

The O'Reilly Series races next at Sonoma Raceway on June 27.

Elsewhere on the San Diego street course this weekend: Corey Heim won Sunday's Cup race but scored no points for it, and Layne Riggs won Friday's Truck race and stretched his championship lead.
